Diamond Geriatrics is a professional service for caregivers, the elderly,
and
business. We provide geriatric care management, counseling, education,
seminars, and consultation on eldercare and aging issues.
We are available seven days a week with a worker to client ratio small enough to provide the close and personal service necessary to working with the frail elderly.
We work with a range of other professionals to help give you the most up
to date care and information available. This includes consultation with
pharmacists, physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, and
home health care agencies.
Diamond Geriatrics is the only Canadian member of the National Association of
Professional Geriatric Care Managers, an 1100 member professional
organization, with a head office in Arizona.
Diamond Geriatrics was founded in March of 1996 by Peter S. Silin, MSW a
geriatric social worker and individual and couple therapist, in response to what he saw as failures in the current system to provide adequate support and service to the elderly and their families and
caregivers.
Mr. Silin has worked in all areas of eldercare, including the
British Columbia long term care community system, in nursing homes,
extended care units, geriatric assessment and medicine units, acute care,
in-patient and outpatient hospital units, and various family therapy settings.
