Peter founded Diamond Geriatrics in 1996. He has worked in all areas of eldercare, including inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, nursing homes, community case management, and assessment units. He is a published author and a frequent lecturer and speaker to business, the general public, and non profits. His commitment to his clients is for them to have “peace of mind,” knowing that they or their loved ones are safe, well looked after, and accessing and using the services they are entitled to.

Amy Freeman
MSW, RSW. Care Manager.
Amy has twelve years of experience in the field of elder care and applies a person centered approach to her work. Her specialty is coordinating care plans for elders with complex needs and providing counseling to seniors adjusting to life in residential care. She is the past president of the Association of Advocates for Care Reform, a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life and quality of care for seniors in long term care facilities. Amy is also a sessional lecturer at UBC’s School of Social Work in the field of Aging and Health, has published research on the experience of elders in residential and hospital care and is a research assistant at UBC’s Center for Personhood and Dementia Care. |

Rebecca Lalani,
RN; Care Manager/ Nursing Consultant.
Rebecca has worked in health care for over thirty years. She trained in both general and psychiatric nursing in the United Kingdom. In her role of consultant for Diamond Geriatrics, she specializes in assessment, advocacy, and teaching. Rebecca is committed to a holistic approach to care, and strongly believes in the importance of the relationship between client, family, and care manager. |

Barb Eisinger,
MSW, MPH, Care Manager.
Besides having Masters degrees in Social Work and Health Care Planning, Barb also has a Certificate in Business Administration. She has worked extensively with the aged and their families for thirty years as a Case Manager, Social Worker, Administrator and Community Developer. Through her various roles in the private and public sector she has become skilled in mediation, conflict resolution, resource accessing, and individual and family counseling. |

Hugh McLennan,
LLB, Elderlaw Consultant.
Hugh S. McLellan, a partner in the law firm of McLellan Herbert of Vancouver, B.C., practices in the areas of estate litigation, estate planning and elder law. He is the current chair CBA National Elder Law Section and the founding Chair of the Canadian Bar Association BC Elder Law Subsection. Hugh is the author of numerous articles, contributing co-editor of Financial and Estate Planning for the Mature Client in British Columbia (Butterworths, 2000) and is an associate editor of the Estates and Trusts Reports. He is a frequent lecturer for various professional and community programs. |

Barb Purdy,
Registered PT/OT, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Consultant.
Barb has a wide range of experience in working in the community, hospitals, and care facilities as a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and consultant. Barb was the founder and owner of “Free To Be,” a store specializing in products for people with a disability. Barb has developed numerous programmes ,seminars, and videos which are currently in use across Canada and in the United States. In her role as Diamond Geriatrics’ PT/OT Consultant, Barb is especially skilled in assessing clients and developing rehabilitation programmes to help them return to, maintain, or gain optimum function. |

John S loan,
MD.
Dr. Sloan is a Vancouver family physician with a special interest in the frail elderly. His clinical practice is confined to the in-home care of disabled older people. He is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Community Geriatrics of the Family Practice Department at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Sloan has published "Protocols in Primary Care Geriatrics," produced two videos on Geriatrics, organized and taught in over 100 courses and conferences in Canada, the U. S. and Europe, and written 17 articles on the elderly, including original research. He evaluates capability in the elderly through the Pacific Capability Evaluation Clinic in Vancouver, and provides medical consultation services for Veterans Affairs Canada, Health Canada, and private insurers. |

Patti Bonisteel,
RD, Dietitian/Nutritional Consultant.
Patti has worked in clinical, administrative and community nutrition for twenty years. Her experience includes swallowing assessments, global nutritional and dietary assessments, care planning and establishment of dietary regimes. She has also been involved in establishing protocols for bowel care, wound care, dysphagia and most recently a research project setting up standards for appropriate intakes of calcium, Vitamin D and B12. Patti is committed to the team approach and values her relationships with the clients, families and other r care providers. |
