England

We were in England and France for a couple of weeks. At the end of our trip, we rented a car and drove around the Cotswolds, an incredibly pretty area of old villages and small town just kind of West North West of London.

What was interesting was noticing in some of these places how many older people were out just touring. When I think about it, I don't see that much here. Maybe we don't have lots of small towns where people can go for a day, maybe people have different habits here , but it was striking.

One of the pillars of healthy older age is keeping active and having interests. It makes me wonder what kind of opportunities for recreation and interest thee ae here for older people. Is something missing? Are the English just lucky to have that?
