Where Do You Buy Your Clothes?

Often, when we think about preparing for our future, we read advice about making sure that we have a will, or an enduring power of attorney, or medical proxy. We are told to make sure someone knows what we want and how we want it.

But, it seems to me that there are things that make us who we are, and that we would want to continue that are the smaller, everyday kinds of things. Who knows about those concerns for you?

the other day I had a client that needed some new clothes. She is in an excellent care facility. But they went and bought her some things from Zellers. Now, nothing wrong with Zeller's. But, she would not have bought clothes there. She would spent a couple hundred dollars on a sweater, several hundred on a dress. She wore a Chanel perfume and painted her nails in a coral colour. These are the things that she would want to be continued.

Who knows what you want? Where is it written down? The soap you use, the shampoo and the toothpaste? Where you shop? Do you sleep on your back or your side? How often you go to the hairdresser? The colour of your nail polish and lipstick? Your brand of deodorant? What kind of razor do you shave with and why that one?

Who is going to be your advocate about these things? The daily life things?
